Key Notes
- Abductor Maximus, Ruthejio Windrustler, and Dnor Le Chuck try to learn more about the manifest exchange
- Learn one of Gullgrabber’s three lieutenants will be handling it
- Eventually goes to meet up with the other group in Draughtside at the “Library of the Seven Moons”
- The other group consists of Bookmark, Mellifluous, and Baba Gaga, who are bound up (like a book) in a library
- By a creature called a “Bookbinder”
- Eventually break free and kill the creature
- Mostly thanks to Baba’s flames
- The first party finally catches up as this is happening
- In the ashes of the creature, a glittering egg like object was spotted by Ruth, not sure what it is, but takes it for further analysis
Session Notes
- Starting off in Redgate where we left off in Session 01 - Secure a clandestine manifest pt I
- Bookmark, Mellifluous, and Baba Gaga had gone to Diadell before for unrelated hijinks
- They were looking up something in a library in Diadell
- They’d be been planning on meeting up with the others at the library, but no word from them has been heard in the last few days
- Puck left a cake in the oven, so had to go back to Pinion
- For the purposes of this document
- Ruthejio Windrustler, Dnor Le Chuck, and Abductor Maximus group will be called “Clam Gang”
- Bookmark, Mellifluous, and Baba Gaga group will be called “Sleepy Heads”
Sleepy Heads
- Bookmark wakes up, he wakes up in the dark, dusty smell, cant move, bound to something, upright.
**Clam Gang
- Abductor, Dnor, Ruth head toward Tideport and a tavern to try and gleam more information about the manifest
- Almost end up at the clam market instead
- Come across a big ramshackled tavern with a giant clam, “The Green Scollop”
- There is a board pinned next to “Yes, green scollops are meant to be green!”, another which says “Are they!?”, and another which says “Yes!”
- Decide to head inside
Sleepy Heads
- Bookmark’s eyes are getting better at seeing what’s around him
- Surrounded by shelves. Seems like bookshelves.
- A rustling noise, coming from somewhere.
- 2 shapes in the gloom, both appear to be also be attached to shelves. Sticky rope. Not woven. Organic? Springy? Secreted? Very Oozy.
- Bookmark is from Kharaz
- Knows about giant desert spiders, very similar vibe.
Clam Gang
- Tavern is bustling.
- Someone is explaining why his boat is the fastest compared to all other boats, companion is bored, but clearly aiming to steal companions purse.
- Heads over to the bar.
- Staffed by someone who looks like a ham, described as “a person who looks like someone took a ham, made it human sized, and then put two little legs on bottom of the ham, and gave the top half of the ham a really big ginger beard with lots of sailor/maritime related tattoos”
- Described as being wider than Abductor
- We order “3 clam martinis”
- Ham bartender just pulls out 3 ales with a bucket of clams
- Staffed by someone who looks like a ham, described as “a person who looks like someone took a ham, made it human sized, and then put two little legs on bottom of the ham, and gave the top half of the ham a really big ginger beard with lots of sailor/maritime related tattoos”
- Dnor goes to argue with Mr Fast Ships
- Abductor stays to make “friends” with the bartender
- Ruth wants to try and listen in to the clientele
- Can only hear Mr Fast Ships and Dnor
- Two people are talking quietly, half elf sailors, their ship came in this morning, they think they saw Gullgrabber’s ship, in the water near Diadell
Sleepy Heads
- Bookmark, can now wiggle around, see the other two are still asleep, might be able to loosen or break the other two out
- Has a zine up his sleeve, drops the zine to the ground to see how far off the ground, not very far off the ground
- Tries to break out by wiggling and wriggling, cannot detach himself
Clam Gang
- Mr Fast Ships stands up in a heated argument with Dnor.
- Tries to compares height to Dnor.
- Was hoping he’d be taller than Dnor, but is a full head shorter.
- Seems to be starting a fight.
- Over at the bar, Hambeard (Bartender) stiffens, reaches down behind the bar.
- Denor tries to give ship friend a hug.
- Friend tries to avoid the hug, but trips
- Their companion friends steals the purse, and gets out there.
- Denor’s friend tries to start a fight thinking Denor had stole his purse
- Hambeard manages to knock out Mr Fast Ships with a thrown cosh before the fight starts
Sleepy Heads
- Mel wakes up.
- Feels terrible, like someone stabbed him in the butt.
- Also bound with the same sticky webbing as Bookmard.
- Notice in the gloom Bookmark is struggling. Shouts out to him to check if okay.
- Mel tries to break out using the bow of his viol
- After a few mins of really boring, and noisy, sewing, manage to break a few strands free, twang apart.
- Notices a shape glooming around the room.
- See a dark scary shape coming down from the ceiling.
Clam Gang
- Ruth decides to ask the sailor half elfs about what the saw
- They saw a ship off in the distance.
- How do they know it was Gullgrabber’s?
- “It just looked kinda evil though, didn’t it?”
- Flag is a “Gull being skewered by a goblin”
- Lieutenants most likely to be on land. Asks about them.
- “The Ruby Incident”
- Two years ago in Diadell there was someone who had a nice ruby, got it from a dwarf, who famously never part with their rocks.
- Some lord was said owner of Ruby.
- Trying to find the perfect frame for ruby.
- One of Gullgrabber’s lieutenants stole it for Gullgrabber.
- Ask about Gullgrabbers lieutenants.

Sleepy Heads
- Mel notices something approaching raises his hands
- Cast sleep in area above
- Playing drum one handed
- Nothing happens to the shape
- The creature is a “Giant bat crossed with giant pigs crossed with giant spiders with giant scorpions and wings”
- Casts invisibility on himself to hide from the creature
Clam Gang
- Ruth suggests that we go to Dramshore
- Abductor has a shoving clams game with the barman, manages to shove more clams into his mouth compared to the barman. Gains respect.
- Ogthar name of the barman
- Denore uses clams to help his incapacitated friend. Friend was allergic though.
- “I feel better now.” says friend
- Denore asks if the friend knows of any work
- Friend says he as some, heads out. Others follow
- Name of friend “Vink” short for “Vinkus”.
- Takes us to Tideport, and a ship. Yells “Signus”, who is a Gnome with a dark beard.
- Vink has some debts he needs to pay Signus
- Ask Signus for work, hires abductor, but what we really want is more information on Gullgrabber.
Sleepy Heads
- The bound 3 roll initiative
- Bookmark analyses target using his ability
- Creature is from a plane called the “Library at the end of the universe”
- Libraries in this universe have a tendency to sometimes get larger and go on forever opening up to the plane of eternal libraries.
- Creatures exist here, feed on knowledge and curiosity, get summoned to wherever people are learning stuff
- This is one of these creatures.
- Lives among the books
- Pretty sure most of these creatures are vulnerable to flames, thanks to paper/book relation
- Remind of wasps that paralyses spiders and lay eggs inside while the spider is alive, eggs hatch, and eat the spider from inside out
- Hence the reason the party has been bound
- Creature is called a “Bookbinder” - decide to nickname it Bella
- Creature is from a plane called the “Library at the end of the universe”
- Also managed to tie himself upside down
- Baba wakes up, casts Scorching Ray onto the beast
- Flaming beast doesn’t fully explode into flames, does good damage though
- Mel tries to wriggle free, gets his top part out, legs bound
- Bookmark analyses target using his ability
Clam Gang
- Still arguing with Signus
- We say we work for Larksong Archive, and show the pin badge. Signus, finally relents.
- Tells us about the lieutenants.

- Amazon godess, “muscules” (not muscles)

- 10ft? (likely closer to 6ft as Signus is a Gnome)

- Described as exactly the same as what the half-elf sailors said
- Lots of knives, dresses sharply
- Something has made Gull really excited. Got something.
- That seems like the thing we want
- Signus kicks us out
- Decide to head to the Library of Seven Moons where we’re meeting the others, located in Draughtside.
- Go to Draughtside, alchemists live here, constant suburb of explosions, and weird spells. Ramshackeled buildings, oldest part of Diadell, one of the bits of Diadell that was possibly part of the old fey land the city was build over
- Make our way to the library.
- Knock on door, lights up entrance hall. Stone walls, lots of tapestries of people reading in “action style”
- At the end we hear a noise from the library.
Both Parties
- Fight continues, Bookmark manages
- Baby Baba runs out, and gestures in direction of the library
- Baba gets hit, but doesn’t get paralysed
- Baba casts scorching ray again, hits, and the bookbinder dinstegrates into ashes.
- There is a pit inside the room, over the ledge we just see a ray. We just about hear the others from.
- Notice something something glimmiering on the ground.
- Ruth goes to pick it up, looks suspiciously like an egg. We don’t know what it is. Reddish sheen.
- Ruth adds it to his inventory.
- Session end
