Session 03 - Secure a clandestine manifest - Part III

Key Notes

  • Party heads to Coppergard to try and find more information about the manifest exchange
  • Head to “The Kraken Arms” where they run into Jace al Ciel, the human lord of the harbour
  • The party constructs and elaborate heist/reconnaissance operation in order to gleam the information out of Jace about the manifest exchange

Session Notes

  • Late afternoon
  • All start the session at the library surrounded by the corpse of the bookbinder
  • Library starts to shrink, turns into a regular library
  • Decide to head to Coppergard, a slightly middle class area, to find a gastropub to regroup, drink, and eat
    • They can’t remember why they were in the library
  • A student wearing alchemical robes, jumps out of a window on fire, users feather fall. Jumped into water, but chased by fire.
  • Coppergard, avenue, straight, perfect, marble walled buildings.
  • A pub, perfectly round trees outside, self pruning. Fancy french restaurant vibes. The Kraken Arms, a picture of Kraken with lots of arms.
    • Very pretty, antique smoke candles smell
    • No clams on the menu
    • Invented “The Menu”, imp who reads the menu from the sigil
    • Bar person dresses in off putting frilly outfit
    • Also invented table service
  • We gets wines and beers and sits there, as we settle down, a person comes over from the next door tables. Dark skin, dark hair, tall, broody.
    • “Hello, you lot, what brings you here?”
    • “Happy to join us for a drink.”
    • “I have not seen any of you around. I think I know most of the people in the city.”
    • Baba: “We’re in the market for some real estate, and looking for someone to show us around.”
    • Brightens up considerably. “I’ll call my man to show you around.”
    • “Jace Alciel” -> Human lord of the harbour
      • Abductor and Gwinzel gasp, but manage to compose themselevs.
      • Goes on about magazines.
    • Takes his leave. Goes back to his table.
      • Talking price of copper company contracts.
    • Decide we’re hack the call rune that Jace gave us.
  • About 10 mins later, clopping from outside. Centaur clip clops into the bar. Little waistcoat.
    • Thango Jurd, the man about town, of Wemfell
    • Ask if we can look for places which has wizards, specifically conjuration or transmutation Sorcery Sourcers - Ruth, Baba, Gwin, Puck
  • Walk with Thango to the Academy of Sorcery
  • Academy of Sorcery is a posh wizarding university, has taken over the older polytechnics on the ground.
    • There is also the School of Sorcery Arts, where the sorcerers fuck about for 3 years because they have innate magic
    • Amalgamation of buildings
      • Very old 1000s year old marble tower
        • Buildings that look like that are from the Fey times
      • Glittering tower made of semi-opaque frosted glass
    • Thango clop his way to the entrance hall
      • Walks up to the information desk
      • Gnome with very large glasses, they chat.
        • Thango asks for some second level wizards, have to wait for half hour.
    • The hall is made up of illusions, like magical birds that turn into rhinos etc, very dazzling.
      • Feel slightly nauseated.
    • Gnome returns with two wizrds, they both have beards, one isn’t real (a women, and also made of pearls, gently fluttering, wearing sea blue robes, tall blue hat, half elf, Lissa Al Fayr, conguration), one is real (drawf, beard constantly changing into various shiny metals, Staub Greyhood, transmuter), very exctied to be a live in wizard.   • Jace gets up to leave, says bye to the remaining party
  • Abductor to Jace flirtily “What are you doing tonight?”
    • “I can make plans, see me at 6, dress smartly”
  • Lirael and Mel sneak out the back of the tavern, through the kitchen.
    • Jace has a shiny black carriage which a horse, and coachman.
  • Lirael and Mel decide to be footman on the back of the carrige
  • Jace is smirking on his way out, doesn’t pay attention to his new footmen, and hands them his hat
